What is a Bike Fit?

Whether you are participating in long gravel events, racing at the World Tour level, or simply enjoying a weekend café ride, comfort is paramount. There is often a strong correlation between comfort and performance, debunking the myth that speed must come with pain.

A Bike Fit is designed to optimise the synergy between a bicycle and its rider. Our philosophy centres on creating the ideal rider/bike interface. We go beyond ensuring the correct bike size; we strive to help riders understand how their mobility, strength, and physical condition can further enhance their cycling experience. This often means that clients leave with a set of exercises and stretches to continue improving their riding experience beyond the 2-3 hours spent on the bike fit.

Our Process

Using a combination of motion capture, rider communication, visual analysis, and extensive experience, we enable cyclists to enhance their relationship with cycling, making it a more enjoyable activity at all levels. Our bike fit process is divided into three sections:

  1. Interview: This initial phase is an opportunity to meet the fitter, discuss your goals, previous and current injuries and understand any current discomfort on the bike.

  2. Off-Bike Movement Assessment: This stage involves evaluating your body's unique movement patterns, mobility, strength, and stability.

  3. On-Bike Fit: Here, we apply our findings to the bike, addressing fundamentals such as saddle height and fore-aft position, and tackling more complex tasks like determining optimal crank length and saddle options. This is followed by a review, or in more complex cases, a follow-up session.
